Unlike EN 1092, these flanges comply with the American ASME standard, meeting all requirements for type, dimensions, pressure classes, and manufacturing materials. Due to their use in corrosive or high-temperature environments, they are typically manufactured from forged austenitic stainless steel, such as A304 or A316, compliant with the ASTM A182 specification.
Dimensions are governed by two different standards within the ASME regulations: ASME B16.5 covers sizes from ½” to 24″, while ASME B16.47 covers the range from 26″ to 60″.
Unlike EN 1092, the maximum working pressure is rated in pounds, abbreviated as LBS. The most common working pressures are 150, 300, and 600 LBS, but ratings can reach up to 2500 LBS, passing through 900 and 1500 LBS.
